Community Rules & Etiquette and Privacy Guidelines

Thank you for being part of our community. To ensure the best possible experience for all members, we have established some basic guidelines for participation.

By joining and using this community, you agree that you have read and will follow these rules and guidelines. You also agree to reserve discussions and shared files and content to that best suited to the medium. This is a great medium with which to solicit the advice of your peers, benefit from their experience, and participate in an ongoing conversation. Questions should be directed to our member services department via the Contact Us link on this site.

Please take a moment to acquaint yourself with these important guidelines. If you have questions, contact the member services department. In order to preserve an environment that encourages both civil and fruitful dialogue, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate membership in this community for anyone who violate these rules.

The Rules

  • Respect others. Focus on the content of posts and not on the people making them. Please extend the benefit of the doubt to newer guests and members; there’s no such thing as a stupid question.
  • Respect the purpose of the community. Use the community to share successes, challenges, constructive feedback, questions, and goals instead of products or services that you provide. If you’ve found a product or service helpful, please share your experience with the group in a respectful way.
  • Use caution when discussing products. Information posted on the discussion groups and in the libraries is available for all to see, and comments are subject to libel, slander, and antitrust laws.
  • All defamatory, abusive, profane, threatening, offensive, or illegal materials are strictly prohibited. Do not post anything that you would not want the world to see or that you would not want anyone to know came from you.
  • Respect intellectual property. Post content that you have personally created or have permission to use and have properly attributed to the content creator. Using the community does not grant you ownership of any intellectual property rights to the content you access and view. You may not use content from the community unless you obtain permission from its owner, or unless you are otherwise permitted by law.
  • When posting items in our collaborative environment, please indicate if the item is not available for reuse.
  • Post your message or documents only to the most appropriate communities. This helps ensure all messages receive the best response by eliminating "noise."

Discussion Group Etiquette

  • State concisely and clearly the topic of your comments in the subject line. This allows members to respond more appropriately to your posting and makes it easier for members to search the archives by subject.
  • Send messages such as "thanks for the information" or "me, too" to individuals, not to the entire list. Do this by using the "Reply to Sender" link in every message.
  • Do not send administrative messages, such as “remove me from the list,” to the group. Instead, use the web interface to change your settings or to remove yourself from a list. If you are changing email addresses, you do not need to remove yourself from the list and rejoin under your new email address. Simply change your settings.

Use of Cookies

The Sagitec website may use "cookies" to help you personalize your online experience.  A cookie is a text file that is placed on your hard disk by a web page server.  Cookies cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer.  Cookies are uniquely assigned to you, and can only be read by a web server in the domain that issued the cookie to you.

One of the primary purposes of cookies is to provide a convenience feature to save you time. The purpose of a cookie is to tell the Web server that you have returned to a specific page. For example, if you personalize Sagitec pages, or register with Sagitec site or services, a cookie helps Sagitec to recall your specific information on subsequent visits. This simplifies the process of recording your personal information, such as billing addresses, shipping addresses, and so on. When you return to the same Sagitec website, the information you previously provided can be retrieved, so you can easily use the Sagitec features that you customized.

You have the ability to accept or decline cookies. Most Web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. If you choose to decline cookies, you may not be able to fully experience the interactive features of the Sagitec services or websites you visit.

Security of your Personal Information

Sagitec implements industry-accepted administrative, physical, and technology-based security measures to protect against loss, misuse, unauthorized access, and alteration of personal information in our systems.  Any employee, contractor, corporation, organization, or vendor who has access to personal information in our systems is subject to legal and professional obligations to safeguard that personal information.  Sagitec prohibits unauthorized access or use of personal information and will fully investigate and press charges against any party that has illegally accessed information within our systems.

Sagitec does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of thirteen. If you are under the age of thirteen, you must ask your parent or guardian for permission to use this website.

Compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation

Sagitec’s Privacy Policy applies to EU data subjects and governed by the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”).  The GDPR requires Sagitec to provide certain information to you about your personal data, which we refer to within this Policy as personal information.  In the event there is a conflict between the two as it applies to EU data subjects, this section shall take precedence.

Generally, Sagitec processes personal information provided by visitors through our website on the basis of consent.  We may also process personal information on other bases permitted by the GDPR and applicable laws, such as when the processing is necessary for us to comply with our legal obligations.

  • Categories of personal information.  Sagitec may process the following information when voluntarily provided by our website visitors: name, employer, email address, postal address and/or country, and telephone number.  We may also process automatically-gathered information as described through our cookies.
  • Recipients of your personal information.  Sagitec may use various service providers to manage our website and provide services such as event registration or managing e-mail communications.  Any services providers must enter into contracts with us that restrict what they can do with your personal information.
  • Information regarding transfers of personal data outside of the European Economic Area.  Sagitec’s administrative offices are based in the United States where we process personal information collected through our website.  When you provide personal information to us, we request your consent to transfer that personal information to the US.  The US does not have an adequacy decision from the European Commission, which means that the Commission has not determined that US laws provide adequate protection for personal information.  Although US laws do not provide legal protection that is equivalent to EU data protection laws, we safeguard your personal information by treating it in accordance with this policy and the GDPR regulations.  We take appropriate steps to protect your privacy and implement reasonable security measures to protect your personal information in storage.  We use secure transmission methods to collect personal data through our website.  We delete personal information within a reasonable period after we no longer need to use it for the purpose for which it was collected.  We also enter into contracts with our data processors that require them to treat personal information in a manner that is consistent with this Notice.

California Consumer Rights
