Required Report Files

To create reports in S3, you must first create the query or method you want to use to populate the report's dataset, plus the following files:

  • SQL Server .rdlc: This file defines the report layout. S3 also supports Crystal Reports .rpt, but .rdlc is preferred.
  • Visual Studio .xsd: This file defines the report schema. This may contain up to five tables. The first table must be named ReportTable01, the second must be named ReportTable02, and so on up to ReportTable05.
  • S3 .rpt: This file allows the application to access and display the report.

You must design your own reports and define their tables. Once you have the first two files in place, you can bind them to the S3 rpt file.
